Hayley Erbert is set to undergo surgery to replace ‘a large portion of her skull’ after her terrifying health scare.
The professional dancer, 27, was rushed to hospital at the beginning of December after becoming ‘disoriented’ following a show.
Her husband, Derek Hough, confirmed that she had been diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel, but was said to be in ‘stable condition’ after an emergency craniectomy.
In a new update, the Dancing With The Stars judge begged fans to keep his wife in their thoughts as she goes under the knife once again.
‘I strongly believe all the prayers that have been sent with the intention and love of Hayley’s recovery has helped so much,’ the 38-year-old shared on his Instagram story earlier today. ‘I can’t thank you all enough.

‘Please keep her in your prayers as I believe the collective energy helped her through these past few weeks. We love you. We thank you.’
According to the Mayo Clinic, an intracranial hematoma is a collection of blood within the skull, and is usually caused by a blood vessel that bursts in the brain, but could also be caused by trauma.
This can lead to a ‘pressing on the brain’ if the blood collects in the brain tissue or underneath the skull.
The couple, who tied the knot in August, were showered in love and support after it was revealed that Hayley had sought treatment just two weeks ago, following a Symphony of Dance show in DC.

At the time, Derek explained that she had been diagnosed with a cranial hematoma and had to go in for an emergency operation, while thanking those who had cared for her.
In a later post, he said that she was on the ‘long road of recovery’, while commending her strength during such a tough time.
‘Hayley has always inspired me with her will, her strength, and her resilience and no more so than in the last 48hrs,’ he added. ‘She is now on the long road of recovery.
‘Words cannot express how grateful and thankful we are for the support and love that you have given us. The kindness that we’ve been shown in this incredibly unfathomable, and life changing time is immeasurable.
‘The offers of assistance that have poured in have been so humbling and appreciated. Our hope is that as a family, we can somehow and someway pay it forward.’
