Hayley Erbert was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation on her brain, husband Derek Hough revealed.
The Dancing With The Stars judge opened up about his wife’s health scare on Instagram, explaining that the 27-year-old became disorientated after their Symphony of Dance show in DC last night.
In a statement, the 38-year-old penned: ‘At the end of last night’s tour performance in Washington DC, my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital,’ he began.
‘She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition.
‘I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her.’
He concluded the post: ‘I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time.’
According to the Mayo Clinic, an intracranial hematoma is a collection of blood within the skull, and is usually caused by a blood vessel that bursts in the brain, but could also be caused by trauma.
This can lead to a ‘pressing on the brain’ if the blood collects in the brain tissue or underneath the skull.
Derek was flooded with support from famous friends and fans in the comments below, as pals shared their hopes for Hayley’s speedy recovery.

Derek’s DWTS colleague Emma Slater said: ‘Omg Derek, thinking of you guys right now. Sending Hayley so much love and healing light.’
‘Oh my friend sending love and keeping her in our thoughts for a full recovery. So scary,’ Josh Groban posted.

Derek and Hayley first started dating in 2015, after meeting as pro dancers on DWTS, and initially tried to keep their romantic bond quiet before finally going public with the relationship.
Last year, they took the next step in their relationship and announced their engagement, after seven years of dating.
‘It’s only the beginning…the beginning of forever,’ they both wrote beside an adorable Instagram post.
In August, they made things official when they tied the knot in Monterey County, in California, surrounded by their closest family members and friends.
‘It’s so interesting what a small sort of piece of metal can do to your whole persona and your whole outlook on everything, where all of a sudden it’s like, “Oh, I have this promise that I carry with me all the time,”’ the groom told People Magazine after their nuptials.
‘And to want to be a man to live up to that promise daily for that person and for yourself and for others, it’s a powerful thing. It’s a beautiful thing.
‘So for me, I’m excited to continue to aspire to be that man each and every day for her, for our animals and for our future family.’
