Cliff Notes – TV fans exclaim ‘thank god’ after streaming giant makes major change after 5 years

    • Disney Plus has revamped its ‘Continue Watching’ feature, allowing users to remove incomplete titles easily, responding to viewer complaints about the previous system.
    • The update has been positively received on social media, with users expressing relief and excitement over the newfound ability to curate their viewing lists.
    • The platform continues to attract significant viewership, with recent releases like Daredevil: Born Again achieving impressive debut numbers, indicating strong audience engagement.

TV fans exclaim ‘thank god’ after streaming giant makes major change after 5 years

Disney Plus has said ‘you asked, we listened’ after overhauling one of the main features on the streaming platform.

After complaints from viewers, the Entertainment company has updated the ‘Continue Watching’ section, which displayed all episodes and movies users had not completed.

Now, they can be easily removed from the row, regardless of whether fans have watched the entire episode or film, by simply selecting the title and clicking the ‘Remove’ option.

Some viewers had found the inability to remove incomplete shows or films irritating for reasons including that they had finished the title or had added a programme by accident.

On Reddit, the change was welcomed by users, including Pep_Badiola, who praised the fact that Disney had ‘finally’ updated the feature.

Echoing their sentiment, @ROBtimusPrime1995 added: ‘Took waaaaay to long for this feature to arrive but thank god it is.’

    Mulder00 added: ‘WE WONNNN.’

Suspec4pe quipped: ‘I can finally watch Bluey without shame and the fear of others finding out.’

LegitimateRegion9541 added: ‘Good . I like watching first episodes of every new show and if I don’t like it I never watch any episodes. There are so many series I never started because I couldn’t remove from continue watching.’

ProudnotLoud also said: ‘Finally! My personal profile is just a graveyard of stuff I half finished because it was a background watch or something I put on while falling asleep. I love Disney+ for this but need the ability to remove the stuff I have no intention of finishing.’

Last week, Daredevil: Born Again became Disney Plus’s most-watched show in 2025 with 7,500,000 views in its debut week.

The Marvel show, which premiered on March 5, marked Charlie Cox’s return as blind lawyer and vigilante Matt Murdock, seven years after the original Netflix show was cancelled.

The revived drama has landed a neat 83% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and rave reviews from fans who have called it ‘absolutely the best thing Marvel has released on their streaming service.’

The impressive opening week figures, per Variety, come after Disney Plus secured 7m views in a nine-day period for Sterling K Brown’s Paradise and, in September 2024, it smashed 9.3m with Agatha All Along’s debut.

However, it remains to be seen whether it will reach the heights of one of Disney Plus’s biggest shows from 2023 to 2024, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which garnered an impressive 13.3 million viewers for the first episode in the first week.

UK shows, including the Stephen Graham-starring A Thousand Blows and the Jilly Cooper adaptation Rivals, have also been huge hits for the streamer.

Metro reviewer Sabrina Barr awarded the former five out of five stars and said the historical drama was ‘even better than Peaky Blinders.’
