    In today’s briefing update, The headlines are –  UK’s COVID-19 approach ‘concerning’ says Jeremy Hunt after the government failed to ban public gatherings, close schools.

    Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has been told to self-isolate after his wife tested positive for COVID-19.

    A Chinese official said US military may have infected Wuhan with the virus and asks ‘where is your patient zero’? 

    In New Zealand, flowers and messages of support have been laid outside the Al-Noor mosque in tribute to the victims of the horrific shooting, ahead of the first anniversary.

    Ten more people have died in the UK, bringing the total number of deaths to 21.

    All patients were in “at-risk” groups, making them more vulnerable to the effects of the virus, the UK’s chief medical officer Chris Whitty said.

    The people were being cared for in hospitals in nine areas, including London, Birmingham and Leicester, north Middlesex and Chester.

    The total number of confirmed cases in the UK has risen to 1,140, the NHS said, up from 798 on Friday.

    The Guardian suggests that No 10 has performed a U-turn by announcing late on Friday that mass gatherings will be banned from next weekend although schools are expected to remain open.

    The Independent takes aim at Boris Johnson has faced criticism for not taking tougher action against the outbreak and his government’s plan to build up immunity within the population to fight the virus over a prolonged period, rather than introducing mass lockdowns, has been questioned by health experts.

    The Daily Mail focuses on how mad panic is sweeping across the country as desperate shoppers form huge queues to purchase toilet roll and strip shelves bare as panic-buying continues with the coronavirus pandemic sweeping across Britain
