
Trump hits the UK with 10% tariff… but others suffer more
- On the face of it, Northern Ireland seems likely to come out relatively unscathed from the international trading bloodbath which will ensue from Donald Trump’s tariffs announcement in the White House Rose Garden on Wednesday.
- The President imposed tariffs of 20% on goods from the EU, while goods from the UK, including Northern Ireland, will be subject to a 10% tariff.
- A judge has said he hopes a change in the law can see the suspected killer of an “entirely innocent” Co Antrim man brought to justice. Victor Hamilton (63) was fatally stabbed outside his home in Ballymena in July 2022.
