Tottenham’s wantaway goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris is in talks to join Lazio on a free transfer, according to reports.
At the start of June, Lloris revealed his intention to leave Spurs after 11 years with the Premier League club – eight of those as captain.
The French World Cup winner declared it to be ‘the end of an era’ despite the fact that he still has one year left on his contract.
But Spurs seem more than content to let him go, having omitted him from their pre-season tour and signed a new No.1 goalkeeper in Guglielmo Vicario.
Up until now though, Lloris’ next destination has been unclear, but RMC Sport now claim that he is ‘keen’ on joining Lazio and is in talks with the Italian giants.
It is said that the Serie A side’s involvement in the Champions League has been a key selling point for the keeper who has made 447 appearances for Spurs.
It has also been reported that Lloris is on Real Madrid’s radar, who are on the hunt for a new keeper after Thibaut Courtious injured his ACL.

It was thought that Manchester United legend David de Gea was set to fill that void, but Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti isn’t said to be keen on the free agent.
Of course with Lloris leaving Spurs now need a new captain, a decision that has been made more complicated by Harry Kane’s imminent move to Bayern Munich.
Spekaing in his pre-match press conference on Friday, ahead of the opening weekend clash against Brentford, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said: ‘Leadership is very much a thing that is transferable between the group.

‘We’ll go through the formalities of that [naming a new captain] tomorrow. I believe we have got some really strong leaders here.’
