Tottenham have shockingly shortlisted Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun as a potential replacement for Harry Kane, according to reports.
After a long and dramatic transfer saga, Spurs finally sold their all-time top goalscorer Kane to Bayern Munich over the weekend.
While Ange Postecoglou has claimed that this has not affected his transfer plans much, it is expected that he will move to sign a replacement No.9 before the summer window closes.
Though Richarlison could be given the chance to prove himself, the Brazil centre-forward struggled in the opening Premier League game against Brentford on Sunday.
Spurs have signed a striker this summer in the form of Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central but the 19-year-old is meant to be one for the future.
A variety of names have been tentatively linked with north London, but La Gazzetta dello Sport have now claimed that Spurs are considering an unprecedented move for Balogun.
The 22-year-old has a fantastic loan spell at Reims last season, but doesn’t appear to be in Mikel Arteta’s plans and as such Arsenal are happy to sell but they want £50million.

Monaco are said to be leading the race for his signature and are set to make a new bid, with West Ham also interested in the USA international, though Inter Milan have been priced out and are no longer in the running.
The links to Tottenham should be taken with a very large pinch of salt given the fierce rivalry between themselves and the Gunners, though it would not be the first time a player has turned out for both clubs.
Five players have done so in the Premier League era alone, namely Sol Campbell, Rohan Ricketts, David Bentley, William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor.

It should also be noted that the reports from Italy name many different players who are supposedly on Spurs’ radar, most notably Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
Lukaku has been pushing for a move to Juventus but a deal has not been reached between the two clubs, while fans of the Serie A giants are vocally against the proposed transfer.
Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and Gent’s Gift Orban are also under consideration.
