FormerĀ EmmerdaleĀ star Sian Reese-Williams opened up about her struggle dealing with soap fame.
The Welsh actress played Gennie WalkerĀ on the ITV soap, and also had a long stint asĀ Jodie RodgersĀ inĀ Holby CityĀ duringĀ onscreen.
However, Sian, 42, revealed the judgment from fans still affects her to this day.
āI found that [world] quite difficult, it was a struggle for me,ā she said. āWhen you are in a soap opera, there is a kind of ownership, because people see you every night.
She added to Yahoo: āYouāre in their living room every night, and people forget that youāre a person sometimes, and the things people feel they can say to you are too personal..
āAnd thereās a lot of people who arenāt very nice, and that can be tricky.ā
Sianās Emmerdale exit saw her characterĀ Gennie was murdered by Cameron Murray (Dominic Power)Ā to protect his involvement in Carl Kingās (Tom Lister`0 death.
The character went on to appear on the soap one last time when she featured in a pre-recorded video on an episode broadcast last August.
She was previously on stage in the theatre production of In Dreams, but has also become known for her role in the TV show Hidden.
The Welsh crime drama ā first airing in 2018 ā follows Detective Inspector Cadi Jones and Owen Vaughan. In the first series, the detectives launch an investigation into the body of a young woman being discovered on the banks of a river.
She has since gone on to appear on BBC One crime proceduralsĀ Line of DutyĀ andĀ Silent Witness, and more recently played a detective in the BBCās Wolf series.
