Tommy Fury looked unconvincing in his win over KSI (PA)
Tommy Fury has revealed that he was suffering from a hand injury heading into his fight with KSI following his controversial win in Manchester on Saturday night.
An irate KSI declared Fury’s victory a ‘robbery’ as Fury won via majority decision with one judge scoring it a 57-57 draw, while the other two scored the fight 57-56.
Fury landed just 39 punches during the six-round contest, while his own brother, Shane Fury, said after the fight that the 24-year-old looks ‘vulnerable’.
But Fury has revealed that his preparations for his fight with KSI were heavily disrupted after he suffered a injury to his right hand during his training camp.
‘Listen, at the end of the day, during camp the right hand was out of play for five weeks,’ Fury told Boxing Social after his win over KSI.
‘I’m not an excuse-maker at all, there was a lot going into the build-up with Jake Paul, but did I mention it? No.

‘I’m not an excuse-maker but the right hand was out of play for five weeks, anybody will tell you that. I was in the doctors, everything. So a lot went on, that’s why I got a bit emotional afterwards.
‘Look at the right hand now, it’s absolutely gone.
‘There was a lot going into the build-up to this but again I overcame it all. It’s all experience, it takes a man with some good mental strength to overcome that.
‘At the end of the day, I tried, fought my best and got the win tonight.

When asked about KSI’s decision to call the fight outcome a ‘robbery’, Fury replied: ‘He should change his attitude because he’s a very sore loser.
‘I’ve come to his own show tonight, it was his promotion, everything was against me, the referee also and I came out and got the win.
‘I want to thank the judges for scoring it how it should’ve been, and I want to thank Jesus Christ, my lord and saviour, for this victory because without him, none of this would’ve been possible.’
