Tom Grennan is about to make his debut on Celebrity Gogglebox – but his dad could end up becoming the star of the show, perhaps due to his use of the C-word.
The 28-year-old will be providing his fans with an insight into his life behind the scenes when he appears on the Channel 4 series, which is due to return on Friday June 16.
Joining the likes of Denise Van Outen, Katherine Ryan and Chris Packham, the Found What I’ve Been Looking For singer will be reacting to the most popular TV programmes and latest news headlines sparking conversation across the nation.
On Sunday June 11, the musician spoke to Metro.co.uk and other media at the Capital Summertime Ball with Barclaycard, where he was asked what viewers can expect from the father-son duo.
‘My dad’s about to be a national treasure, that’s what he’s about to be,’ he said, teasing plenty of controversial comments and prolific use of the C-word as his father Martin is ‘the most Irish dad’.
However, he did seem to air concerns over how they’d fare if they were made to react to scenes of an intimate nature.

‘If there’s ever a sex scene my dad gets so awks,’ he remarked. Best to steer clear of Bridgerton in that case!
Tom was also asked exclusively by Metro.co.uk whether he felt that he’d changed throughout his career, having last year been nominated at the Brits for song of the year for his track Little Bit of Love, and received a nod at this year’s ceremony in the best rock or alternative act category.
‘I haven’t,’ he responded.
‘I think I’ve got older, I haven’t changed. I’m just doing everything I would’ve done when I first started doing it. I’m enjoying it and not being a di***head.’
In addition to Tom, other stars on the line-up for the 2023 Capital Summertime Ball with Barclaycard included Joel Corry, Raye, Jess Glynne, Ellie Goulding, Adam Lambert and Anne-Marie.
Calvin Harris was placed at the end of the day of performances, with acts including FLO, the Jonas Brothers and Niall Horan also taking to the stage.
Celebrity Gogglebox is set to return on Friday June 16 at 9pm on Channel 4.
