Diver Tom Daley has revealed his future in the sport is uncertain, as he’s unsure whether he’ll be back for the 2024 Olympics.
The sporting star is just 28-years-old, but he’s already enjoyed a stellar career in diving, securing bronze medals in the 2012 platform event, the 2016 synchronised event, and the 2020 platform event, making him the first British diver to win four Olympic medals.
Also in the 2020 Olympic Games, he won gold in the men’s synchronised 10-metre platform event alongside Matty Lee.
But despite his massive achievements, Tom can’t say for definite if he’ll be back in the pool competing anytime soon.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday (October 29), he admitted the training process to get back into shape would be pretty full on, as he hasn’t stepped on a diving board since the Olympics.
‘I think if you were to ask my coach and ask me, there would be two different answers,’ he began, when asked how long it would take for him to get back int diving shape.

‘But, what I’m gonna do is go back to training, see how I feel, because I love diving, but then I’ve done so much within the sport that I don’t know if I want to keep going… I do want to keep going because I love it, but it’s like this balancing thing.’
‘I love spending time with my family and not having to travel as much,’ Tom added, as he shares son Robbie with husband Dustin Lance Black, whom he married in 2017.
‘There’s a lot of stuff to think about,’ he confessed.

As comedian Rob Beckett proposed he doesn’t do any training and just ‘rocks up on the day,’ Tom laughed: ‘I’m not sure my teammates would agree with that.’
‘You’re Tom Daley, you can do what you want!’, the comic quipped.
As presenter Jonathan insisted Tom’s choice has to be the right one for him, he added: ‘I do hope we get to see you do it again,’ to which Tom teased: ‘We’ll see.’

He told Variety: ‘What’s been really challenging is not being able to use my mind.
‘And I didn’t share it publicly until I was at a place where I was able to be a little creative again — at least for a few hours a day in the morning with breaks.’
He added: ‘It takes a long time to come up with the next thought or word. It’s going to come back and the doctors are saying that hopefully by before Christmas, I’ll be back to Lance.’
The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday on ITV.
