Three quarters of UK adults double-jabbed as Sajid Javid confirms September Covid-19 vaccine booster campaign
The i says three quarters of all adults in the UK have now been double vaccinated against Covid-19, according to official statistics.
The milestone was passed on Tuesday when it was announced that a total of 39,688,566 people have received both recommended doses of the jab. Another 7,403,323 Britons have had their first dose of the vaccine and are due to receive a second with in the next two or three months.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said that the Government’s advisers were still preparing their final advice on a campaign of booster jabs for the most vulnerable half of the population, but added: “I anticipate it will begin in early September, so I’m already making plans for that.”
