A boss from ITV’s This Morning has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a TV show contestant, it’s been claimed.
This reportedly resulted in an internal inquiry being launched to investigate the producer’s actions.
The fling is said to have occurred while a spin-off holiday dating segment was being filmed in Barbados, in an axed pilot which was fronted by A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton.
The member of staff in question has since quit, it’s been reported.
‘Bosses were furious when it came to their attention that a producer had an affair with the contestant, especially in light of this year’s This Morning scandal and controversy,’ a source told The Sun.
‘It meant that there was another investigation into what happened in Barbados that had to be carried out.

‘It was disappointing to senior members of staff. The producer promptly resigned.’
An ITV spokesperson told the publication: ‘We are unable to comment on the details of any specific employment-related matters.’
The news of this alleged relationship comes months after Phillip Schofield admitted to lying about having an affair with a younger runner on This Morning before he stepped down as co-host.
In October, it was reported that ITV had issued a warning to members of staff about their friendships and relationships in light of the controversy.

According to the Sunday Times, the document read: ‘If a personal relationship exists between you and another colleague (whether it started prior to or during the course of your employment or engagement with ITV), both parties must disclose this to the company at the earliest opportunity.’
An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘ITV has had in place a policy on relationships at work since October 2022. Like all of our people policies we keep them under review and update them periodically. The relationships at work policy was most recently reviewed and updated in October 2023.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted ITV for comment.
