The expandable table is ideal for big family feasts
We don’t think we’ve been quite as obsessed with a simple piece of furniture as we are with this table.
With Christmas fast approaching, this clever Transformer Table is the ideal way to ensure all your loved ones can tuck into the turkey together. And then turn it into a single-seat desk immediately after.
Because unless you’re made of money or one of those annoyingly lucky people who bought in an area estate agents described as ‘full of character’ right before the hipsters cycled over on their Penny Farthings armed with craft beer and made the house prices rocket, you’ll probably be short on space in your home.
And in an ideal world, we’d love to be able to throw a dinner party for a big group but on a day-to-day basis, we just don’t have the space for a large table.
That’s why the Transformer Table is such a clever piece of furniture.
It has the ability to expand from 18 inches to 10 feet long in seconds. So yeah, this wood is a true grower AND shower.

It can seat up to 12 people with chairs when fully expanded and collapse down to a small and compact coffee table.
It first went viral when Instagram creator Rasha Abdel Reda posted a video of it online. Hollywood soon came calling and A-listers like Zooey Deschanel and Drew Barrymore have snapped one up.
Apparently, a member of One Direction also purchased one although it remains a mystery as to who. We like to think it’s Harry.
The table has three solid wood finishes, inspired by the colours and textures of nature – Australian Acacia, Siberian Birch, and American Mahogany.

It’s pricey at £1,999 (although in this current climate, that’s probably only about six packets of butter now). But if you’re entertaining this festive season, think of it as two pieces of furniture in one.
Or six.
Plus, no one wants to see your poor auntie balancing on a breakfast stool at the kitchen table or your boyfriend sat on the sofa balancing a plate so the steaming hot gravy doesn’t slip off and burn his stuffing balls. That’s not a Merry Christmas.
And the great news is that the table is available to buy at Costco stores in the UK.

If you’re not familiar with Costco, it’s a place that you’ll go in needing nothing and walk out with a year’s supply of cat litter and three giant sacks of frozen gyoza. IYKYK.
We’re pretty taken with this viral, space-saving furniture win.
