Listen, there’s no way we’ll ever let a man tell us we’re too hormonal. But let’s face it, there are certain times of the month when a gal can feel crazy.

Whether it’s our periods, PCOS, perimenopause or many of the other things that women get bitch slapped across the tits by Mother Nature with, it can be tough.

Hormones don’t just cause us to eat an entire chocolate traybake and sob at vintage episodes of Long Lost Family (just us?) An imbalance can also affect our fertility, cause headaches, anxiety and give us trouble sleeping.

But there’s a chocolate-flavoured beverage that uses all-natural ingredients and is getting buzz from shoppers claiming it has amazing benefits.

Unwind + Recover Mushroom Blend is designed to balance hormones, boost our moods and help us get a better night’s sleep.

The cacao-flavoured drink was developed with the help of nutritionists by co-founder Georgi after she spent years struggling with hormonal acne, anxiety, migraines and fatigue.

After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease and PCOS in 2019, Georgi made it her mission to manage her symptoms through lifestyle and diet changes.

She then discovered the benefits of adaptogens, mushrooms and high quality vitamins and wanted to see what the best combination would be to achieve the best results.

We don’t know about you, but we didn’t realise that our diet could have such an impact on our hormones. And appaz, scoffing a jumbo-sized chocolate bar and consuming four iced coffees drizzled with hazelnut syrup ain’t the one.

Metro.co.uk spoke with Sarah Williamson, who is the co-founder of Women Wise and a nutritional therapist for the intel on mushrooms and hormones.

‘What you eat can really impact your hormones,’ Williamson tells us. ‘A hormonal imbalance can really negatively effect a lot of things in our bodies. Reishi mushrooms are good at reducing our stress levels and the same for ashwaganha. Sugar is highly addictive but when we consume it, it naturally causes our blood sugar levels to rise and then drop.’

The reviews for the product – which contains reishi mushroom, magnesium, lemon balm leaf, tryptophan, ashwagandha and chamomile leaf – have been promising, and after trying it to see how it helped with sleep, Metro even found a benefit or two in the blend (even if the taste was a little to get used to…great if you love mushrooms).

Elsewhere, one customer said: ‘I saw someone recommending this on tiktok and bought on a bit of a whim – don’t regret it! I have PCOS and struggle with sleep at certain times of the month, this really helps me and I love the taste of it with ice cold milk.’

Another customer wrote: ‘After seeing the product on a nutritionist’s Instagram story I follow, I decided to order the powder as I have been really struggling to sleep over the past few months. I wish I had found this blend sooner, it makes me feel so relaxed in the evenings and my sleep scores have shown the improvement it has made to my sleep routine! Will be reordering when this months supply is out.’

The sixways new cacao-flavoured drink is designed to boost our moods, balance hormones and even help us sleep better. And it’s definitely making a name for itself on social media.
