Thierry Henry is a fan of Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus but admits that Arsenal have a problem with him and his injury record.
The Brazilian has struggled with a number of fitness issues since arriving at the Emirates from Manchester City last year and is currently out of action with a hamstring problem.
Brought in to be Arsenal’s first choice striker, the 26-year-old only managed 24 Premier League starts last season and has made just four so far this campaign.
Henry likes Jesus’ game when he is on the pitch, noting a memorable goal against Sevilla last month in the Champions League, but admits his ongoing fitness struggles are a problem.
‘When you see that goal (Jesus’s against Sevilla), that’s a great strike,’ Henry told CBS Sports.
‘The only problem with Gabriel Jesus is that he often gets injured. Unfortunately for him and us.’
Jesus has had a good season so far in the Champions League, scoring three goals in just three outings, but has netted just once in the Premier League since the start of the campaign.
Henry has hailed the forward previously for his contribution to the team even if he is not scoring many goals, saying he would have got a lot out of playing alongside him.
‘I’d have loved to have played with him,’ said the Gunners legend. ‘He’s a great guy to have around, I’m sure if you ask anyone they’d love to play with him.
‘Is he a guy who is going to score you 25, 30 [goals]? I don’t know, I’d like to think so. Is he going to be the best goalscorer ever in the history of the game? We all know that’s not really him but what he offers and what he does for a team is second to none.’
