David Fincher’s latest nail-biting thriller The Killer has come to Netflix and it has a surprising link to British music icon Liam Gallagher – yes, really.
The film sees Michael Fassbender star as the titular killer who becomes embroiled in an international manhunt after a hit goes wrong.
His unnamed character is rarely seen without his trusty beige bucket hat, something that many music fans will associate with Oasis legend Liam.
As it turns out, so did The Killer’s costume designer Cate Adams as she explained how Our Kid ended up on her mood board alongside the likes of Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Paul Newman.
‘He’s always wearing bucket hats and oversized windbreakers. It’s, like, “Are you kidding?” You can look at him through the decades and he’s always wearing something similar,’ she said of the Wonderwall hitmaker.
She described Oasis as ‘timeless’ before praising Liam’s look and attitude, saying she ‘f*****g’ loves him.

Cate continued to Esquire: ‘I figure he’s a douchebag but I thought that documentary [Liam Gallagher: As It Was (2019)] was really well done. I’m sure he’s a complete a**hole. But I do love his look.
‘I mean, he was playing Glastonbury and I don’t even think it was raining but he was wearing this, like, ginormous, oversized windbreaker. And I was, like, “What is going on? Aren’t you sweating to death?” But maybe that’s his schtick, you know. He’s trying to burn calories.
When it’s pointed out to her that all of the men on her list have a certain attitude, she once again likened Liam’s persona and his infamous feud with brother Noel as similar to that of Fassbender’s Killer.
‘”I don’t give a f**k”, right? Isn’t that Liam? That’s The Killer. There’s nothing in there. He doesn’t care,’ she continued.
‘He couldn’t really care less about what anyone thinks of him. He doesn’t really need anyone to survive. It’s just him. I feel like Liam’s kind of like that, right?
‘He didn’t give a f**k about his brother. He’s, like, “I’m the man. I really don’t care about all of you.”‘

The same attitude Cate described was a subject in Peter Kay’s upcoming memoir (Picture: Jim Dyson/Getty Images)
It comes after Peter Kay revealed in his upcoming autobiography that his feud with the singer may have prohibited him from being invited back to present the Brit Awards.
Frontman Liam was branded a ‘k***head’ by host Peter after he chucked his microphone – and trophy – into the crowd after scooping the best album prize during the 2010 awards ceremony.
Liam did so after taking to the stage and thanking his former bandmates for their work on What’s The Story, Morning Glory, which became a hit record worldwide.
Writing in his new autobiography, Big Adventures On The Small Screen, as per The Mirror, he recalls: ‘Liam Gallagher won an award. He swaggered on stage to collect it, then threw it into the audience and walked off.
‘He could have hit somebody in the face with it. What a k***head, I thought. So I said just that when I walked back to the mic “What a k***head”.’
‘I wasn’t trying to be controversial, or stir trouble, I just said what was on my mind. That might be the reason why I’ve never been invited back to present the Brits again.’
