The race for the premier league title is on, doesn’t matter how the managers have tried to play it down, the next two weeks will either make or break their title challenge, the pressure and is starting to simmer and the cracks are beginning to show.
From previous years we know the standards needed to win the premier league. A draw seems like a defeat and nothing less than win will do. Something or someone is about to blow, who will give way first.
As the final whistle blew in Saturday’s home draw for Arsenal FC with Everton FC, there were a smattering of boos from the crowd. Coming so close to the title in the past two seasons has perhaps given fans the idea a minor tweak is all you need to get over the line.
This should have been an easy three points, a chance to gain ground on a Liverpool side who also dropped points, albeit in slightly different circumstances, but Chelsea go marching on!

A concern for the Gooners will be the team are playing under the pressure of being the ‘pretenders to throne’ and Arteta is gambling everything on winning the league. Even though he has built brilliant side, he’s spent a lot of money doing it, yet, he is still missing that one or two key world class signing, if they don’t then will the Arsenal fanbase turn on Arteta.

Liverpool, under Arne Slot, displayed resilience and spirit, snatching a late draw and feeling like they had done enough to win the game. Fans lauded their determination with 10 men but they adapted to the situation and Slot found a way for them to play. In the second half, you didn’t even notice that Liverpool were a player down, in some cases it felt like they had the extra man.
Contrasting Liverpool’s performance with Arsenal’s disheartened mood, the game felt like a defeat. Mikel Arteta’s post-match comments didn’t inspire either, while Slot’s tactical aggression underlined Liverpool’s never-say-die mentality, will give them even more momentum during the holiday period and they are definitely in race for the Premier League title.
Chelsea’s Quiet Revolution
Chelsea, revitalised and under the radar, have been transformed. From a club overloaded with individual quality and players to a team that now looks like a real team and Enzo Maresca deserves huge credit for that.
They face a favourable fixture run with games against Brentford, Everton, and Fulham offer a chance to close the gap further. While Liverpool hold a game in hand, Chelsea’s consistency and Arsenal’s stumbles position them as genuine contenders and they could be on top of the table for Christmas.
