The Queen flies to Sandringham by helicopter after doctors clear her for trip

The Daily Mirror says The Queen has left Windsor Castle by helicopter today to spend the weekend at Sandringham, her country home in Norfolk.

Doctors cleared the 95-year-old monarch to make the trip after she had spent several days resting at her Berkshire residence due to tiredness.

The Queen was understood to be “delighted” to be able to make the journey for her mini-break which had been planned for some time.

Her Majesty is understood to be making the trip to make plans ahead of welcoming her family to the country estate for Christmas.
