Roman Kemp better update his LinkedIn as The One Show has made him a permanent host.
The 30-year-old has already proved he’s got the chops for the job as a regular on the BBC show, and his efforts have been recognised with the position.
Alex Jones, 46, will remain as the consistent host on every episode of the weekday show, whilst Roman and Jermaine Jenas, 40, will job share.
Sharing his joy at the job Roman said: ‘I’m very excited to become a permanent presenter on The One Show – I have had so much fun filming with the team already over the past year on the sofa.
‘It’s a dream come true to be on primetime BBC One, bringing the best topical news and entertainment to the nation.’
Meanwhile, Ronan Keating will be doing fewer shows. The 46-year-old explained why he’d be stepping back in a statement: ‘I’ll be doing less shows this year due to my performing and recording schedule but I’m still very much part of the family and wish Roman the best of luck.’

Those are not the only changes – Desert Island Discs presenter Lauren Laverne has been given a ‘regular spot on the sofa’.
Roman, the son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, is certainly busy and booked as he also also a longstanding gig at Capital FM presenting their breakfast radio show alongside Sian Welby, who recently got engaged, and Chris Stark.
He’s also joined Sarah Greene to present The Finish Line – a brand new game show.

The format tests five contestants on their general knowledge, but speed is also important as they battle it out to get round a ‘race course’ fastest and take home the prize fund of £5,000.
He’s quickly bonded with Sarah, 65, who has returned to the spotlight after nearly a decade away.
She said of her connection with Roman: ‘I feel as though I’ve met him because I work with his parents [Martin and Shirlie Kemp]. So, I said, “I am your honorary godmother. You do know that, don’t you?”‘

With such a busy working life, it’s no surprise then that Roman has ruled himself out of another BBC juggernaut Strictly Come Dancing.
Although, his resistance is less to do with scheduling and instead due to fear of injury.
‘I would almost bet that I would end up getting injured,’ he told OK!
‘I’ve had two knee operations, and a slipped disc. And I don’t think it’s really built for me.’

If Roman were to take part though he has his eyes firmly on one professional dancer – Johannes Radebe.
‘The only way I’d do Strictly is if I was teamed up with Johannes [Radebe],’ he admitted.
‘I think sometimes the show takes away from the skill of the dancers and it becomes like a soap opera of who’s dating who.’
The One Show is on BBC one at 7pm every weeknight.
