Can’t get enough of Erin Doherty’s tantalising performance in A Thousand Blows? Well, we have another show to add to your watch list.

She’s best known for playing Princess Anne in Netflix’s The Crown, but 32-year-old Doherty has another project on her CV that may have passed you by.

In her new Disney Plus drama, she stars opposite Stephen Graham to tell the phenomenal true story of The Forty Elephants, an all-female crime syndicate based around London’s Elephant and Castle area in the 1880s.

While Mary Carr is arguably her most dramatic part to date, Doherty is no stranger to sinking her teeth into a role, as was made clear when she took the lead in BBC’s Chloe.

The miniseries landed in 2022, full of psychological twists and turns to keep viewers on their toes until the last minute—and fans have been rediscovering it thanks to the success of A Thousand Blows.

Here’s everything you need to know about the thriller…

    What is Chloe about?

Chloe was created by Alice Seabright, a director of Sex Education.

Exploring all things obsession, grief, and deceit, the six-parter follows a woman who takes on an alter-ego following the tragedy of losing her best friend.

Becky, played by Doherty, obsesses over influencer Chloe (Poppy Gilbert) and her seemingly perfect life. So, when her former childhood friend takes her own life, Becky is determined to get to the bottom of what happened.

To do so, she assumes the identity of Sasha, forcing encounters with those closest to Chloe and engineering friendships and romances.

She soon infiltrates Chloe’s inner circle and becomes one of them, leading a life far more glamorous and exciting than her own.

Throughout the series, viewers must watch anxiously as Becky plays a dangerous game and risks getting caught out, while numerous flashbacks encourage us to piece together what might have really happened when Chloe died.

Chloe received critical acclaim, largely thanks to Doherty’s performance.

The show attracted 5.87million viewers for its first episode, which premiered on February 6, 2022. Episode 2 pulled in 4.15million.

On the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, Chloe scored an approval rating of 94%, averaging a rating of 7.8 out of 10, based on 31 reviews.

Critics described it as ‘intriguing’ and ‘entertaining’, praising its ‘unexpected turns’ and Doherty’s ability to portray a ‘multifaceted character’.

Coleman Spilde from The Daily Beast wrote: ‘So disturbing it will scare you off social media…’

‘Remarkably good, Erin Doherty captures the full range of emotions experienced by her character’, said ScreenAnarchy’s Peter Martin.

Boston Globe’s Matthew Gilbert also hailed Doherty as ‘simultaneously creepy and sympathetic’ in the role, while Pat Stacey of the Irish Independent penned: ‘This is a fresh, invigorating spin on the psychological thriller, full of surprises.’

    Who else is in Chloe?

As well as Doherty, Chloe stars Billy Howle as love interest Elliot Fairbourne.

Another key player is Pippa Bennett-Warner as Livia Fulton, one of Chloe’s best pals.

Other cast members include Jack Farthing, Akshay Khanna, Lisa Palfrey, and Brandon Michael Hall.

    How to watch Chloe

Chloe first aired on BBC One.

All six episodes are now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
