Mark Labbett wants Bradley Walsh to stay hosting The Chase for as long as possible – so do we!

The ITV quiz show, which began in 2009, involves contestants facing professional quizzers on general knowledge questions, and an integral part of the much-loved series is host Bradley’s rapport with both the hopefuls and the Chasers.

Mark, who is referred to as ‘The Beast’ on The Chase, likes having Bradley on set so always wants to ensure he is healthy for the 150-200 episodes they film each year.

‘Our biggest worry is Bradley being 63 now. Every month, we’re going, “You okay, Brad? How’s the health?” Wrap him in bubble wrap!’ Mark, 58, shared.

Bradley is very much in demand – he fronts some of our favourite entertainment shows including Blankety Blank, and the upcoming rebooted Gladiators.

‘He’s so damn popular you’re more worried about what he signed up for now.’

The pair are also busy with Beat The Chasers where Mark joins forces with his fellow quizzers. While, they play individually on the weekday show, on the special primetime spin-off Mark, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis form one team, and the contestants are punished with less cash prize if they decide to face fewer chasers.

Their wealth of knowledge can sometimes have viewers baffled, but Mark insists they’re just really very good at what they do.

‘We do have people say, “They give you the answers though, right?”

‘I always point out that we’re all international quizzers, I mean, Anne is a two-time work ladies champion.

‘They think you can’t be that good and the answer is we are,’ he concluded in a mic drop moment.

Beat The Chasers Celebrity Special airs January 12 at 9pm on ITV
