Shaun Wallace is seemingly making a shocking career move – he’s joining the cast of adult pantomime Jack And His Giant Bigstalk.
The Chase icon will appear in the panto, by former Big Brother star Simon Gross, for a special performance this December, it has been revealed.
Simon, who appeared on Big Brother in 2015, will be playing Queen Genetalia in the adult show, which runs for two weeks at The Prince of Wales on London’s Drury Lane.
The show will also see a Fairy Barbie, Daisy the Cow, Dame Trott and Jack and Jill, of course.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Simon shared an image of Shaun, 63, with The Chase music playing in the background.
He wrote: ‘Excited to announce that the legendary Dark Destroyer @theshaunwallace will be making a special appearance on the 11th December in Jack And His Giant Bigstalk.’
While he has yet to tease more about the role, Shaun reshared the image on his Stories, and later teased that he ‘should do panto next year’ alongside a clip of his ITV co-star, Jenny Ryan, who stars in a Snow White panto this year.
This comes after Shaun ruled out anymore reality TV appearances.
Shaun, who has served as a quizzer on the hit ITV teatime gameshow alongside the likes of Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Mark Labbett since 2009, is a barrister by profession and previously admitted his day job is a large part of why he is selective with the TV work he agrees to.
He told The Daily Star last year: ‘I do get the offers but I’m not a reality type of guy. I still practise as a barrister and there is a limit to what I will do.
‘The last reality-type challenge I did was Don’t Rock The Boat, and that was a physical challenge where myself and seven other celebs rowed the length of Britain.

‘I’ll do something like that but any other type of reality show is not really for me.’
He added that, despite being known as The Dark Destroyer due to Bradley Walsh’s quiz show, he doesn’t take his fame for graned.
Shaun said: ‘One thing I don’t do is take for granted being on The Chase but I’m a barrister first and foremost.
‘Yes, people recognise who I am – I can’t help that fact – but I can’t use my fame to get a required result. I can’t change the evidence. I’ve been a barrister for 38 years, a Chaser for 13 years.’
Metro.co.uk has approached Shaun Wallace’s reps for comment.
The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV1.
