The Queen said ‘thank goodness Meghan’s not coming’ to Philip’s funeral, A new book claims, leading up to the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral that took place last April.
Her Majesty reportedly said “thank goodness Meghan’s not coming” to Prince Philip’s funeral last year, a new book has claimed.
Unnamed sources make the claims in a new book by biographer Tom Bower entitled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between The Windsors.
A royal insider claimed earlier this month that The Queen is “fed up with Harry and Meghan drama” and wants the bullying claims surrounding Meghan to be handled privately so a “line” can be drawn.
Thank goodness Meghan’s not coming
The controversial book has been published in Saturday’s paper that claims the Queen, 96, was relieved that the Duchess of Sussex, who was then seven months pregnant with her daughter Lilibet, would not be attending her husband Philip’s funeral last April.
The book says: “‘Thank goodness Meghan is not coming,’ the monarch said in a clear voice to her trusted aides.”
However, sources close to the Queen have questioned whether the monarch would have anything other than Philip on her mind on the day of the funeral.
In the book, Mr Bower also claims that Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, made a “demand to appear with the Queen on Buckingham Palace’s balcony” during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last month.

The book alleges that Prince Charles opposed this arrangement.
Mr Bower writes: “Festering was their (Harry’s and Meghan’s) fury that the palace had refused all of their demands for a prominent role at the Jubilee.”
He adds: “In Meghan’s view those optics were unsatisfactory, partly because her value to Netflix was to stand near the Queen.”
Meghan spells trouble for Harry
The royal biographer has claimed Prince Harry chose to “ignore” the “warning signs” that Meghan Markle could cause trouble for the palace after revealing their relationship to a journalist
“The besotted prince ignored the warnings that Meghan spelt trouble for the Palace.”
The claims made by Mr Bower come from extensive research and interviews which took more than 12 months to gather. ‘Thank goodness Meghan’s not coming’ is a revelation serialised by the Times newspaper.
