Two teens were arrested by police officers as they prepared to flee the country on a flight to Alicante in Spain, after taking part in a broad daylight shooting at a Nottingham shopping centre.
Ramarni Spencer and Pharrell McLennon, both 18, were arrested by Nottinghamshire police while queuing at a fast food restaurant at East Midlands Airport, ahead of boarding a flight to Alicante.
Both were seen on CCTV two days earlier on 5 May 2024, firing pistols at another youth outside shops at the Bridgeway Centre, The Meadows before speeding away on an electric bike in Nottinghamshire.

The duo, now aged 18, have both pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in relation to the incident, which led to the police cordoning off a shopping precinct for a number of hours.

Spencer and McLennon appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (24 January), where they were sentenced for a combined 23-and-a-half years.
The incident took place at the Bridgeway Centre at around 3.25pm on Sunday, May 5. After analysis of CCTV, the two teenagers, who were both 17 at the time, were arrested and charged.
The Co-op was closed after the incident for a number of hours and police put a cordon in place the next day, Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, before the area was reopened.
