Taliban says there ‘may not’ be top Government jobs for women in Afghanistan – as campaigners urge UK to rescue female MPs
The i says the Taliban has said there “may not” be jobs for women in senior Government positions in Afghanistan amid warnings female parliamentarians have been left fearing for their lives.
A spokesman for the Taliban said during an interview that women could continue to work in lower levels of Government but that he could not confirm there would be Cabinet-level positions for them.
His comments came as campaigners urged ministers in the UK to do more to evacuate female MPs and judges who have gone into hiding in Afghanistan
