Inspired by the struggles of working-class women, but not limited to that. Women from Hollywood and Bollywood have championed this movement.

Even though the movement was led by the early socialist movement, women from all the political diaspora have united to support IWD.

A strategy formed to hold an annual day and has inspired women, young and old, around the world.

The movement is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women from around the world. The movement is driven to accelerate gender parity.

Global influential leaders both men and women have come forward and actively supported the movement and each year it grows with the number of females coming forward over abuse allegations and significantly pushing for equality as well.

It has taken a lot of inspiration from the #MeToo movement and has inspired young woman to strive for a better more equal future going forward.
