The ‘don’t try this at home’ warning has never been more real than on Britain’s Got Talent this weekend.
In utterly terrifying and horrific scenes, sword swallower Andrew Stanton performed what Simon Cowell described as ‘the most disgusting thing’ he’d ever seen in the show’s history.
Things were eerie from the off, as the stunt performer (well, he’s a massage therapist by day), refused to speak when he walked onto the stage, leaving everyone wondering what he was going to do.
He proceeded to swallow one sword right in front of the judges’ desk, which the likes of Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, and Alesha Dixon struggled to watch.
But Andrew didn’t stop there, as he then pulled out three swords and yep, you guessed it, stuck them down his throat.
The audience continued to gasp and scream as the auditionee made it look like light work.

And just to make sure they were, yanno, fully in there, his assistant then whacked the swords in using… a frying pan.
Honestly, we feel queasy just imagining it again.
For his finale, Andrew did something that’s never been seen on BGT before.
Calling a nervous Amanda to the stage, he instructed her to lie down underneath him with a belt around her waist.

Once she was in position, Andrew swallowed a final sword and attached himself to Amanda, clipping chains to her waist and his actual eye sockets.
As the crowd roared and the remaining judges lept out of their seats in shock, Andrew lifted Amanda clean off the ground.
It was a truly petrifying moment, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly also unable to watch as they asked: ‘What is wrong with him?’

Sharing their horror online, Twitter users admitted they were ‘traumatised’ by the whole thing.
‘That was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever seen’, one person wrote.

Andrew received four yeses from the judges, although we can’t say we’re excited to see what he does next…
