Swedish police destroy object outside Israeli embassy in Stockholm
In a recent incident outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, Swedish police have successfully neutralized a “dangerous object” labelled as an “attempted attack” by the Israeli ambassador. Law enforcement promptly cordoned off a wide area as a precautionary measure, and there were no injuries.
Authorities, refraining from disclosing specific details about the object, mentioned that it was discovered by embassy staff around 13:10 local time (12:10 GMT). The object, identified as a “live” device, prompted the intervention of the national bomb squad, who destroyed it.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson expressed deep concern, deeming the situation “very serious.” The country’s Security Service started an investigation to determine the individuals responsible for the incident. In response to the heightened threat, surveillance around the embassy and Jewish institutions has been intensified, further underlining the gravity of the situation.
