Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid has revealed her radical new hairstyle – but the new look fell flat with co-presenter Ed Balls.
The journalist, 54, said she was starting the New Year with a fresh ‘do and has added hair extensions to her previous bob cut.
On today’s ITV show, Susanna showed off her new long hair on TV for the first time – but Ed, 57, shared his reservations.
When asked for his verdict, the former politician admitted he preferred the broadcaster’s short hair.
‘I really like the short hair,’ Ed confessed.
He continued: ‘Do you remember when we interviewed Cher and Cher said keep your hair long? I thought, “No you’re wrong Cher.”‘
Last night, Susanna unveiled her new hair for the first time on Instagram with a selfie.
She captioned the post: ‘NEW YEAR NEW HAIR! After having THE CHOP in 2023, pop idol Cher told me women should keep their long hair so I am turning back time and going LONG for 2025 with hair extensions put in by @christinabhair.

Unlike Ed, many of Susanna’s 665K followers heaped praise on her new look, including GMB co-star Kate Garraway, who wrote: ‘Looking fab!!!’

Susanna often switches up her look, with her most recent transformation being blonde highlights in the summer.
Many social media users branded the former Strictly Come Dancing star’s new hairstyle as ‘beautiful’ and ‘stunning’.
In 2022, she showed off a feathered, layered long bob that looked decidedly similar to Jennifer Aniston’s cut known as The Rachel, named after her character in Friends.
Two years previously, she unveiled a long elegant hairstyle – very similar to Kate Middleton’s trademark locks.
Richard Ward, who is the man behind the Duchess of Cambridge’s luscious locks, even created the look for Susanna.
