Sunday Mirror – Granny’s guard of honour
This week’s Sunday Papers are heavily dominated by royal news.
The Sunday Mirror fills its front page with a photograph of the Queen’s grandchildren, who held a vigil around their grandmother’s coffin in Westminster Hall.
The photo the front page uses is of Princes William and Harry, both in military dress, looking solemn beside their cousins as they paid silent tribute to their grandmother, who is lying in state in Westminster Hall.
Queen’s youngest grandson bravely stands with William and Harry during vigil for Queen
Sunday Mirror says At just 14 years old, he is the Queen’s youngest grandchild and has largely grown up away from the public spotlight.
But tonight James, Viscount Severn, the younger son of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, bravely joined his older sister Lady Louise Windsor and his cousins Prince William and Prince Harry for a poignant and moving vigil around the late monarch’s coffin.
Along with Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, James walked in formation into Westminster Hall and stood at the side of his grandmother’s coffin. He bowed his head as he positioned himself in between Peter and Eugenie while tearful mourners, who had waited in a long queue, came to pay their respects.
His parents watched on during the vigil with mum Sophie becoming tearful as she proudly watched both of her children carry out the emotional vigil.

Son ends Tottenham drought with hat-trick off the bench in Leicester win – 6 talking points
Sunday Mirror says Heung-Min Son came off the bench to score a stunning hat-trick and ensure that Tottenham kept the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Leicester had gone ahead through Youri Tielemans’ penalty, though Harry Kane quickly equalised. Eric Dier then turned the game on its head by flicking in Ivan Perisic’s squad but Leicester had the last laugh of the first-half when James Maddison scored a remarkable volley to level.
A series of attacking substitutions, coupled with a defensive horror-show from Leicester, meant that Spurs claimed the three points, with Rodrigo Bentancur first slotting past Danny Ward before Heung-Min Son scored three stunning goals to seal the win. Here, Mirror Football looks at six talking points from the entertaining clash.

Chris Kaba protest: Met police slammed for ‘appalling’ probe after man shot dead
Sunday Mirror says Demonstrators have gathered today to express fury against an “appalling” police force which shot dead a young man through the windscreen of his car.
Chris Kaba’s family are calling for a “homicide investigation” to be launched into the circumstances surrounding his death.
They joined more than 1,000 people outside New Scotland Yard in central London, after it took several days for the Metropolitan Police officer to be suspended in relation to the incident.
Speaking at the protest, Bell Ribeiro-Addy Lambeth, Labour MP for Streatham, said: “In my view the length of time it’s taken to suspend the officer involved is completely appalling.

The two were shot less than 48 hours and two miles apart in Liverpool. Initial police statements said there was no evidence of links. But a source told the Sunday Mirror the shootings were believed to be part of a gang feud.
