Sun Sport – Prem punish financial breach: Forest fire

The back page of the Sun newspaper reports on Nottingham Forest being deducted four points by the Premier League for breaching financial rules. It means Notts Forest find themselves in the relegation zone and Luton have moved into 17th place – just outside the drop.

Nottingham Forest hit by points deduction for breaching Premier League financial rules as they drop into relegation zone

NOTTINGHAM FOREST have been hit with a four-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The sanction sees the club plummet into the relegation zone.

Forest were 17th with 25 points. But they will to fall to 18th on 21 points, one behind 17th-placed Luton.

Forest said they are “extremely disappointed” and “extremely dismayed” by the ruling.

They were charged in January for breaching the Premier League’s PSR rules in the 2022/23 campaign.

Under the Financial Fair Play regulations, clubs cannot lose more than £105million over three seasons.

Rashford’s mum reveals Man Utd star has been struggling after two bereavements and warns of ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’

MARCUS RASHFORD’S mum has revealed the Manchester United star has been struggling after two bereavements in his life.

Rashford has had inconsistent form this season with eight goals in his 35 appearances.

And the England international has found himself in hot water with disciplinary problems off the field.

His mum Melanie Maynard opened up on his son’s season in a column in The Times.

And Melanie – who worked three jobs to support Rashford and his four other siblings – revealed her son’s secret heartbreak.

She wrote: “Marcus lost a second very important person in his life: his cousin Nathan in November, after a very good family friend, Garf, had died a year earlier, which set him back a lot.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe warns Man Utd fans not to expect superstar signings as he lays out transfer plan

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE has told fans not to expect the world’s best players to sign for Manchester United.

The British billionaire has purchased 27.7 per cent of the club and is in charge of football operations.

There has been speculation about Man Utd splashing the cash in upcoming transfer windows after Ratcliffe previously told supporters he wants to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.

But he has admitted his approach in the market is not to buy big-name superstars.

Ratcliffe told the GT Cycling Club when they asked about Jude Bellingham: “He’s a great footballer. But It’s not where our focus is.

“The solution isn’t spending a lot of money on a couple of great players. They’ve done that if you look at the last ten years.”
