Stunning strike sees Everton equalise last-minute
Everton and Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 in a Premier League match that saw both sides reduced to ten men.
Defender Michael Keane salvaged a draw for Everton with a stunning long-range goal in the 90th minute.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane had earlier given the visitors the lead with a penalty after Keane fouled Cristian Romero in the box.
The game lacked excitement until Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off for pushing Kane in the face off the ball.
Kane was able to put Tottenham in the lead from the penalty spot just 10 minutes later. In the 88th minute, Tottenham’s Lucas Moura was also sent off for a dangerous challenge on Keane.
Everton’s Keane, however, shook off the knock and scored the equaliser in the final minute of the game.
The point took Everton three places up to 15th while Tottenham climbed to fourth place on goal difference.
The game was important for Everton, who had seen fellow strugglers West Ham and Bournemouth win at the weekend and Nottingham Forest claim a point. Keane’s goal came after winning goals from fellow ex-Clarets James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil in recent home victories.
