Dianne Buswell has held back tears as she revealed the reason why she became emotional on Strictly Come Dancing last week.
The professional dancer, 34, joined the BBC dancing series in 2017, previously being paired with famous faces including now-partner Joe Sugg, as well as Max George and Tyler West.
This season she’s been competing with EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, 20.
However, on last Saturday night’s show, Dianne sparked concern after she became visibly emotional after their dance, before thanking Bobby for his support and calling him her ‘rock’.
Now she’s detailed what’s been happening in her personal life and how it’s been motivating her to keep going in the competition.
In a Q & A on her YouTube channel, Dianne said she’d received many messages from fans asking if she was ok after seeing her looking upset on the show.

‘I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all. Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously that affected me,’ she shared.
‘Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that.
While Dianne’s family had plans to head to the UK for Christmas and watch her on Strictly, she said that wouldn’t be happening now and she was instead planning on going home to Australia at the end of the year.
‘There is a little road ahead for my dad but I believe 100% he is going to be fine and we are all going to get through it together,’ she continued.

She then asked fans to give her dad ‘a little thought or prayer’, which she would ‘greatly appreciate’.
‘My dad is the sweetest, kindest man you will ever meet and the one thing he really wants is for me to keep going and to keep dancing my little heart out and doing what I love because that makes him the absolute proudest,’ she said.
As she started to tear up, Dianne said she was going to try her best to do an ‘amazing job every single week’.
‘Regardless if I go home with a glitterball or not I will still go home and have a hot Christmas,’ she added.

Dianne’s parents Mark and Rina live in Bunbury, Western Australia.
Ahead of last week’s performance, she shared a photo on social media of a text he’d sent her before she took to the stage.
It read: ‘To my dearest lovely Dianne. I wish you all the best of luck for tonight’s concert, hope you and Bobby have a great dance tonight if Craig give you an 8 you are bound to get top 37 tonight. Love you more. Daddy.’
Replying to her post, dance partner Bobby wrote: ‘Gonna put on a concert for dadda b tonight.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
