The Sun – Strictly results are in: I’ve won
A BBC report into alleged bullying on Strictly Come Dancing was “fudged”, The Sun claims on its front page.
The newspaper says former contestant Amanda Abbington and professional dancer Giovanni Pernice have both claimed “victory” following an investigation by the broadcaster.
Strictly’s Amanda Abbington to SUE BBC for damages after 6 of her bullying claims against Giovanni were upheld by probe
THE BBC yesterday apologised to Amanda Abbington as it finally published the findings of its report into Strictly bullying claims against Giovanni Pernice.
Actress Amanda, 50, is now poised to sue the Beeb for loss of earnings and damages.
She told The Sun: “I want to take the time to consider the report in detail with my advisers before deciding what happens next.”
After months of speculation, the bombshell 30-page report was seen as “vindication” by Amanda.
The team for Italian pro Gio, 34, believe he too has won after being cleared of the majority of complaints.
The probe found he used swear words and “belittling” language and gave negative feedback.
Israel is testing weak Iran – but its enemy could soon have a nuke and might not be afraid to use it
ISRAEL is trebling down. Not content with devastating attacks on its mortal enemies in Gaza and Lebanon, it has opened up a third front by bombing the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is spinning more plates and spinning them faster and faster.
It is undoubtedly a significant task, but it makes some sense when Israel considers who it thinks is the real, overarching enemy.
Israel is surrounded by a ring of fire — terror organisations Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, which are all backed by Iran.
And the Israelis have decided to attack all three at once precisely because Iran is on the back foot.
It is sending a message that if the Iranians choose to get involved, Israel will hit them as well. If that attack was to come, it would probably be aimed at Iran’s nuclear programme.
Today’s news summary – Paper Talk
If you are someone who reads every perspective of a story, here is a news summary of all of today’s front pages from today’s newspapers; summarised in a 2-minute read
Editorial 01 October 2024.
Tuesday’s front pages are dominated by two polar opposite stories: Israel’s ground invasion of Lebanon and the Strictly Come Dancing bullying report.
The Strictly Come Dancing report leads many of the tabloid newspapers after a report was issued – and an apology from the BBC – into bullying allegations on the hit TV show. In 2023 Amanda Abbington put in a formal complaint against her Strictly dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
The report found some of her complaints to be true, but Pernice has been cleared of the most serious allegations. Complaints of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld, but claims of physical aggression were not.
Israel’s ground invasion of Lebanon makes up the rest of the UK front pages this morning, as editors speculate as to whether this is the start of an all-out regional war.
