Former Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole has revealed he will soon be sleeping in a tent with his entire family in Spain as they wait for their house renovation to finish.
The former professional dancer appeared on the first 15 seasons of Strictly, being partnered with stars including Fiona Phillips, Lisa Snowdon and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
After leaving the show in 2017, he went on to appear as a contestant on the fourteenth series of Dancing on Ice in 2022, reaching the final and placing second.
This summer Brendan, 47, is turning his focus to working on one of his homes, and has explained why he’s getting ready for an extended ‘glamping experience’.
‘We are doing a very nice refurbishment on our place in Mallorca,’ he said.
‘I’ve bought many houses over the years and I have always had the intention to refurbish them but have never gotten around to it and I have sold them and finally, we’re doing a proper refurb on our house in Mallorca.

‘Because we’re doing the renovation we actually can’t live in the house so the plan is to actually be in a glamping tent on the property which is quite nice although if it gets too hot, which I fear it might be, we may well just come back,’ he added when speaking to The Sun.
He went on to say that while they’d already stayed there ‘time to time’ with his wife Zoe and their two children, Aurelia and Dante, they had a ‘moment of gin madness recently’.
‘Probably three or four months ago now when, over a couple of trips to Mallorca, we took this massive bell tent over with us,’ he shared.

After being forced to camp in the tent for several weeks earlier this year after a holiday rental property fell through, Brendan said it was a ‘really lovely adventurous sort of thing to do’, which they had missed once returning home.
‘Now we are going back in a couple of weeks. But if it is too hot then we might come back…. But we have got a barbecue right outside the tent so we can cook and we have set up a solar shower,’ he added.
Back in 2018, Brendan confirmed that his contract with the BBC had not been renewed and he would no longer be a part of the Strictly line-up, after first joining in 2004.
Revealing the news during an appearance on Lorraine, he was close to tears as he said it was ‘hard to talk about’ being cut.
‘The BBC haven’t renewed my contract – we get renewed year on year – and they made an editorial decision not to have me back on the show,’ he continued.
The dancer then said it felt ‘very raw’ as he’d still wanted to be part of the series.
Strictly Come Dancing is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
