Strictly Come Dancing 2024 partners ‘comforting each other’ after break-ups

Strictly Come Dancing stars Tom Dean and Nadiya Bychkova are said to be comforting each other after their own break-ups.

The pair became the first to be eliminated from this year’s competition, but still remain close, according to reports.

Olympian Tom, 24, split from his girlfriend Charlotte Phillips, just two weeks into his Strictly experience, it’s claimed, while Nadiya, 35, suffered her own heartbreak after splitting from her boyfriend of two years and fellow pro Kai Widdrington.

It’s now been claimed Tom has been a ‘rock’ for Nadiya and they’ve been enjoying lunch dates together, with a source saying: ‘Nadiya and Tom have comforted each other following their break-ups.

‘They both love golf and have been going for lunches after their early Strictly exit.

‘Nadiya and Tom were both gutted that they didn’t go further in the competition, but have been able to get to know each other away from the dancefloor.’

The insider added to The Sun: ‘Nadiya has always said that Tom is a complete gentleman.

‘He’s been a rock to her since she split from Kai.’

This comes after Nadiya and Kai, 29, called time on their relationship after they experienced a ‘tough few weeks’ with their extremely busy schedules.

At the time, it was said that they remained ‘incredibly close’, and they were ‘determined their split will not have any impact on the next series of Strictly’.

However, Nadiya has since claimed they are now not as close, saying at the Pride of Britain awards: ‘We work together but we are not friends and that’s OK.’

‘One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I’m a professional.’

Meanwhile, Tom and his ex are said to have parted ways ‘amicably’, with sources saying their year-long romance came to a natural end.

An insider told The Daily Mail: ‘Like in so many breakups, Tom and Lottie’s year-long relationship had naturally run its course, and it has nothing to do with Strictly; it just happened to be in the first two weeks that they decided to part ways.

‘They are still good friends and it’s all amicable between them.’

Nadiya previously branded Tom a ‘wonderful gentleman’, after sharing her devastation over their Strictly exit.

She said: ‘Tom had so much to give and I had so much I wanted to teach him. His improvement in the last 2 weeks has been incredible and I think, actually I know, he could have become a brilliant dancer.’

Nadiya continued: ‘I’m devastated that you won’t get to see that. My 3-time Olympic Champion was an amazing student and is a wonderful gentleman. He will go on to bigger and better things and I know this year he could have had a brilliant Strictly story.

‘I love this show and I want to wish the other couples all the best and I’m sure it’s going to be a great series. Thank you for your kindness.💫.’

Metro has approached reps for Nadiya and Tom for comment.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
