Streaming giants may be in the running to buy Channel 4

The Times says Channel 4 could be taken over by an American streaming giant such as Netflix, a minister suggested yesterday after the government pushed ahead with plans to privatise the broadcaster.

John Whittingdale, the culture minister, said that he did not “by any means rule out” the channel being taken over by a company such as Netflix or Amazon.
