Storm Barra named as UK prepares for heavy snow and 70mph winds
The Metro says Much of the UK has been warned about potentially dangerous winds hitting the country from Tuesday, while snow is expected in some areas.
The newly named ‘Storm Barra’ is due to bring yet more disruption to areas still struggling to recover from the last bout of bad weather.
A yellow warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office covering all of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and most of Scotland. The only places likely to escape the gusts are the far north and Scottish islands.
The rest of the country has been told to brace for potential travel disruption and short term loss of power.
