Strictly Come Dancing super fan Steph McGovern has expressed her desire to join the show, but not at this current moment.
The daytime TV favourite, 41, was heavily rumoured to be signing for last year’s edition of Strictly, after previously saying no in the past.
She previously revealed that she’s been asked ‘a couple of times’ to feature on the flagship programme, but couldn’t due to the launch of her Channel 4 daytime programme Steph’s Packed Lunch.
And while she would love nothing more than to get her dancing shoes on, Steph revealed that fans might have to wait a little longer for her show cameo.
‘I’d love to be a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, but it’s never been the right time to do it,’ she told Prima magazine while covering the September issue.
‘I can’t do it now because I have the show and I don’t want to be away from my daughter, but I’m hoping it will still be going in years to come.

Steph previously refused to rule out taking part, telling Packed Lunch viewers earlier this month, ‘never say never.’
In 2021, former Strictly finalist John Whaite backed his co-star to appear on the annual show during an Instagram live.
‘You know I said to Steph, my friend and colleague that she should do it because she’d be great, but I don’t know if she will, I hope she will,’ he told his followers.Â

‘I’m sure they’d want her, Steph’s got some moves, let me tell you.’
Other celebrities rumoured to be taking part this year include This Morning host Josie Gibson and former Love Island star Zara McDermott.
Elsewhere Wham! legend Andrew Ridgeley has done little to dampen speculation he could be joining the competition series, admitting he would ‘never say no.’
Angela Rippon, 78, is also another name in the mix.
In the 1980s, the presenter first hosted Come Dancing, the show that provided inspiration to the BBC programme.
The September 2023 issue of Prima is now on sale.
Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One.
