Stanley Tucci has spoken candidly about his initial reservations about dating his wife, Felicity Blunt.
Stanley, 62, was introduced to 40-year-old literary agent Felicity by her sister, the actress Emily Blunt.
Emily starred alongside Stanley in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada and it was at the film’s premiere that the former introduced the latter to her sibling.
However, it wasn’t until 2010 when Stanley and Felicity met for the second time at Emily and John Krasinski’s wedding that they struck up a romantic relationship.
But Stanley has now revealed he was initially plagued by doubt because of his and Felicity’s 21-year age gap, going so far as to say it ‘scared’ him.
‘I was afraid to get into a relationship and I kept trying to break it off because I am so much older than she is and I didn’t want to feel old for the rest of my life. But I knew this was an incredibly special person,’ he explained this week on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, according to MailOnline.

Stanley, who shares two young children with Felicity and three with his late wife Kate Tucci, who died from breast cancer in 2009, also heaped praise on Felicity for how she handled their relationship at first.
‘Felicity has been so incredible taking on a widower and three children,’ he said, adding: ‘That’s a huge thing at a very young age too. If anybody made things better for all of us, it’s her. She’s the one.’
Touching upon his late wife, he also shared: ‘I see her sometimes.
‘There’s a part of you that goes, “Oh no, that’s not her” and then you think maybe it is her.
‘Maybe she didn’t really die. I have so many dreams. You never really believe that a person is dead and I’m coming to understand that now.’
Got a story?
The pair met in 2006.
