Spotify users are ‘obsessed’ with the daylist feature, but is it any good?
For years astrology fans have relied on star sign traits to tell them everything they needed to know about a person. But it seems there’s a much more modern way to go about this…
Instead of asking someone if they’re an Aries, or a Virgo, all you need to do is find out what their Spotify daylist is called.
Because it turns out the digital music service actually knows a lot more about you than you probably realise.
Every year Spotify shows millions of users around the world that it’s been paying close attention to their music preferences, with their beloved Wrapped campaign.
But it turns out the music platform is also closely monitoring your daily listening habits as well.
The Spotify daylist is having a major moment on social media
People are just discovering Spotify’s daylist feature, which while not new (it launched in September last year), is currently having a big moment on social media.
Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) feeds have been rammed over the last few days with posts about the daylist as people realise that every day can be ‘Spotify Wrapped season’, and the 50 songs in the playlist reveal a LOT about your personality.
For some context, Spotify daylist is a changing playlist that aims to capture your musical mood and tastes at certain times each day.
The website explains: ‘This one-of-a-kind playlist on Spotify ebbs and flows with unique vibes, bringing together the niche music and microgenres you usually listen to during specific moments in the day or on specific days of the week.’
The playlist updates at various points throughout the day and the title of it changes to reflect your usual listening habits at that time — and it’s these incredibly relatable titles that have captured people’s attention.
