It’s been a rollercoaster few days for fans of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas after rumours surfaced that they were heading for divorce.
The Jonas Brother officially filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones star on Tuesday, September 5, obtaining a petition for dissolution of marriage in Miami Dade County, Florida.
Neither party has addressed the rumours, continuing their fairly private life as they did before this devastating announcement.
Joe, 34, was recently spotted wearing his wedding ring, confusing fans as Sophie, 27, also appeared at his gig but it seems the split is more than a rumour.
The filing let slip a secret that the two had been keeping close to their chest – the name of their second daughter, whose initials are D.J. according to the court document.
A source has told The Blast that the pair did have an ironclad prenuptial agreement (prenup) in place although this did not cover their two children as per state laws.

The prenup states that both parties will keep any money made from their respective careers.
For Sophie, this means all her earnings from Game of Thrones, X-Men, and other acting gigs will remain her own, including any residuals.
Her estimated net worth sits at around $12 million (£9.5 million) while Joe is thought to be worth a staggering $50 million (£40 million).
Joe on the other hand will keep his wealth from all his musical exploits such as The Jonas Brothers and DNCE, as well as anything earned from his current world tour.
This is fairly standard for prenups, ensuring no party walks away with an unfair share of the couple’s wealth.

Property will also be divided up by who legally owned the home, which includes a place in LA, England and the Miami marital home.
It’s thought that the couple may sell their Miami house and split the money between them, although this is not confirmed.
In California, couples cannot pre-negotiate how to split their parental obligations before getting married so a court will need to rule on this topic.
Joe is believed to be asking for joint custody over three-year-old Willa and 14-month-old ‘D.J.’ although some sources report he has been the predominant guardian recently.
Due to their wealth imbalance, it’s likely Joe will have to pay child support to Sophie but this will be decided by a judge and can be altered if their financial situations change.

Little has been reported about Sophie’s current status or whereabouts, but there has been speculation that the couple have already sold their Miami home.
Joe is said to have been considering this divorce for some time, with sources citing his wife’s ‘partying’ as an issue.
The pair began dating when she was 19 years old and quickly became a fan-favourite chill couple, with Sophie claiming in multiple interviews that she is a ‘homebody’.
They wed in 2019 at an impromptu ceremony in Las Vegas then again at a formal event in France for the whole family to attend.
