Skilyr Hicks dead: Former America’s Got Talent contestant dies aged 23

The Daily Mirror says Skilyr Hicks, who had previously appeared on America’s Got Talent, has died at the age of 23.

The singer-songwriter appeared on season eight of America’s Got Talent in 2013.

Her mother, Jodi, said her daughter passed away Monday after she had been found lifeless in the home of a friend in Liberty, South Carolina.

The cause of death is currently unknown.

Skilyr’s mum told TMZ that her daughter had been dealing with mental health issues, including depression and substance abuse.
