Earlier this year, we lost a legend of the drinks world, as Lilt was axed after almost 50 years on the market.
For those still mourning the loss 10 months on, we have good news.
Shoppers have spotted an alternative that might just be enough to fill the pineapple and grapefruit-shaped hole in our lives.
Customers have seen a Lilt alternative in Aldi stores – available for just 30p per can.
The supermarket’s Tropical Blast – a pineapple and grapefruit flavoured soft drink with sweeteners – appears to be a good substitute too as customers seem to think it tastes just as good, if not better, than the original discontinued drink.

Posting in the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one shopper shared a picture of a pack and wrote: ‘£1.79 for a pack of six and it’s just like Lilt.’
Another group member wrote: ‘I love the fruit one it just taste like Fanta.’
While someone else added: ‘I think it is better than Lilt.’
Tropical Blast is available as a pack of six 330ml cans, or as a 2-litre bottle.
