Sharon Osbourne has recalled a violent moment with her late father, saying she was ‘kicked down the stairs’ by him.
The X Factor and The Osbournes star, 71, is the daughter of English talent agent Don Arden, who once managed Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.
Arden died in 2007, with Sharon going years without speaking to him; they eventually made it up near the end of his life, and while she paid for his care and his funeral, she did not attend his burial.
Mother and grandmother Sharon has also previously alluded to violence in her home growing up, but said ‘I wouldn’t say I was abused and beaten, in those days it was a normal thing.’
Now, decades later and with a family of her own, Sharon has looked back again at her own childhood as part of a conversation in the new episode of The Osbournes podcast.
A fan sent in a question asking Jack and Kelly Osbourne if they would allow their own children to have the sort of childhood they had – on screen and with lots of travelling – and they both agreed they would, but with ‘a little more parameters.’
Ozzy explained: ‘I don’t know if that’s the right way or the wrong way. We were open, we always tried to have a relationship with you guys.’

Sharon reflected on her own father, saying: ‘I’d get boxed around the head,’ as Ozzy added ‘he was throwing you down the f****g stairs.’
‘Punched in the ribs,’ Sharon went on. ‘Kicked down the stairs.’
She moved on immediately, dismissing the conversation with an ‘anyway.’
In a 2007 interview with psychologist Pamela Connolly on TV show Shrink Rap, Sharon said she was ‘surrounded by violent people’ growing up.
‘I was surrounded by violent people, violent talk, violent behaviour, so there was nothing unusual seeing my dad threatening someone, or brandishing a firearm. It seemed normal. I thought everybody was like this. It was part of our lives.

‘My father really had a temper. He had a voice which would echo through the entire house. A couple of times he would whack me and he used to yank my hair. I wouldn’t say I was abused and beaten; in those days it was a normal thing.’
Sharon and her husband Ozzy have a close relationship with their now-adult children, who were seen growing up on their reality TV show and now have a weekly chat on the podcast.
In the same episode where Sharon recalled the treatment from her father,Ozzy, 73, complained to Jack ‘you don’t bring my grandkids to ever see me.’
Jack insisted ‘I f****g will,’ but teased his 15-month-old daughter Maple was ‘scared of you IRL (in real life).’
He said the one-year-old loved watching her grandfather on TV, and will point at his music videos chanting ‘Papa, papa, papa.’

‘But in real life when she sees him she’s like- ‘ here Jack looked down, pretending to be terrified, as he whispered: ‘There he is…’
An earlier episode of the podcast saw the family reminisce on pouring coffee and dog food on a former nanny who had allegedly tried to have sex with Ozzy while he was passed out.
Kelly was ‘in charge of putting Dad to bed’ as he was so drunk, but then the family’s nanny – ‘who will remain nameless for legal reasons’ – entered the room and began ‘straddling him.’
Kelly leaped into action, saying she ‘grabbed her from the back of the head and pulled her off, and she, Jack and Sharon poured coffee grounds, dog food and baked beans over her while she herself had passed out drunk.
The next morning the family went to breakfast and by the time they returned, the nanny had apparently ‘done a runner’.
