Mary Fitzgerald suffered a devastating miscarriage while filming for season seven of Selling Sunset.
The 43-year-old’s relationship with husband Romain Bonnet has been a key feature of the Netflix series since it began, in 2019.
The couple were married in 2018 but tied the knot once again in the second series – and have been vocal about wanting to start a family together.
In the series premiere, which dropped on the streaming platform today, they learned that they were pregnant with their first child together, and excitedly set about telling their co-stars.
However, in devastating scenes, Mary – who is also mom to son Austin – later revealed that they had lost their little one.
‘We were supposed to go to the ultrasound to hear the heartbeat,’ Romain told Amanza Smith, as his wife said: ‘We thought it’d be an exciting thing.

‘She started doing the ultrasound and I’ve seen that look before.’
The real estate agent explained that the technician suggested doing a vaginal exam as she couldn’t find the baby’s heartbeat.
‘I already started getting that sinking feeling,’ Mary continued. ‘I just feel numb right now. I go from crying to just numb.’
In a confessional, she said: ‘I don’t know what the normal timeframe is to get over something like this.

‘I just keep moving forward and trying to put a smile on my face and act like everything’s okay but… It doesn’t feel okay.
‘Romain is everything. I love him so much. He’s the best husband ever and one day, we’ll be able to have a family together. I hope.’
The Netflix star previously shared that she became pregnant her first child, Austin, when she was 15 years old, and gave birth 26 years ago.
‘It was difficult being a teenage single mom,’ she recalled. ‘I made so many mistakes just trying to get by and not knowing what I was doing.’

The Oppenheim Group agents rallied around the pair, with Amanza, Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan and co offering their support.
Mary and her beau briefly joined the gang on their office trip to Cabo, stating that the getaway was a ‘good distraction’ for them both.
‘It’s been a rough couple of days but I’m glad I came down here,’ she added. ‘It’s really nice to see my girls and they’re so supportive.
‘I’m really glad to spend some time with them.’
Selling Sunset is available to stream on Netflix now.
