School closures today across UK after heavy snow – see if your child’s is shut
The Daily Mirror says Schools across the country are shutting due to snow and treacherous weather conditions.
One of the “coldest nights of the season” hit parts of the UK last night, with temperatures dropping to as low as minus 10C (14F) and the ‘Arctic shot’ shows no signs of letting up.
The mercury fell below zero in many parts of the country, including in cities such as London.
A Met Office yellow warning for ice is in place for much of the UK on Monday after Storm Arwen wreaked havoc across much of the UK, bringing strong winds, sleet and snow.
Dangerous weather conditions have seen schools shut for the day in parts of the country including Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
