Sarah Cawood has discovered another lump in her breast, just nine months after she was diagnosed with cancer.
In September 2022, the TV presenter, 50, announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer after it was detected during her first-ever routine mammogram. Fortunately, it was caught in stage one.
However this week, Sarah informed her social media followers that she’d found another lump but had been told it could simply be down to hormone changes in her body.
In an Instagram video on Monday, the former Top of the Pops presenter explained: ‘I’m just going to tell you guys something – I’ve found another f***ing lump. I went to the doctors and she could feel it too.
‘Our hunch, me and the doc, is it’s because your boobs change, the composition of your boobs change quite a lot when you’re on hormone therapy.
‘But I’ve got a mammogram tomorrow – it’s not a recurrence, so it would be another primary cancer, but I haven’t got the time, so will you all say a little prayer for me tomorrow at three?’
She continued: ‘I’ve got a niggly doubt, on the whole I feel OK, but I’ve just got that niggling tiny worry. Obviously, once you’ve had cancer you worry about it coming back all the time.
‘I haven’t been quite as healthy as I could have been, but you know, you’ve got to live haven’t you? I can’t cut out all the joy, can I?’
Following her diagnosis at the end of last year, Sarah explained how she had to undergo a further mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy and feared the worst until doctors assured her they had caught the disease in stage one, which is the least aggressive form of cancer and means it is small and hasn’t spread anywhere else in the body.
‘The surgeon went, “Can you see that? That’s a very small cancerous lump”. And I went, “Oh, OK, is it aggressive?”,’ Sarah recalled to her followers in September.
‘And she said, “No”. And I went, “Brilliant”. I was … happy. I was like, “OK, so easily fixed?”, and she was like, “Yes, not really much of a problem”.

Recalling that after all of her worrying, there were no tears and ‘it wasn’t very dramatic’, the ex Live and Kicking host’s course of treatment included a lumpectomy, radiotherapy and the hormone blocker Tamoxifen, which she’ll need to take for five to 10 years.
After sharing her latest news, Sarah was bombarded with messages of support from her followers, with one writing: ‘Good luck tomorrow, Sarah. Hopefully nothing too sinister.’
Another said: ‘Manifesting to the universe its a pesky cyst.’
‘Fingers and toes crossed 🤞 ❤️ and all the positive thoughts and vibes going your way,’ one fan wrote.
