A familiar face showed up in the most recent episode of And Just Like That – Sam Smith – but viewers were less familiarised with their stature.
Sam, 31, played a fictionalised version of themself in the HBO series and was seen shopping for artwork with the help of Charlotte York Goldenblatt [Kristin Davis] and friend Jeffrey C Williams.
It wasn’t their appetite for very expensive art, but instead, their height that caught people’s attention.
The singer towered over 5’6 Charlotte as they made their way around the gallery. She may have been wearing stiletto heels but Sam is 6’2.
The news of their impressive height came as a bit of shock to some people watching the series at home.
‘I was today years old finding out Sam Smith was 6’2 idk why I thought [they] was way shorter lol #AndJustLikeThat,’ remarked one person.

Another correctly pointed out that they had some help: ‘Plus the 3 inch platforms’.
Others were just generally surprised to see Sam on the show.
‘The new episode of and just like that and sam smith pops up on my screen I was not expecting that,’ typed a shocked viewer.

They also got praise for their appearance: ‘@samsmith loves Sex and the city, omg this is iconic!’
And Just Like That showrunner, Michael Patrick King, previously explained his excitement at having Sam on board.
‘Two days after they won the Grammy, they’re on our show with a Carrie necklace that says Sam,’ he recalled to Entertainment Weekly.
‘They said they and their sisters all have them. That is the gold of having done a show that people liked: you call Sam Smith to play this nice part that we needed, and they’re like, “Yes, cause I love the show.” That’s really thrilling.’
On next week’s episode of And Just Like That fans will be treated to another cameo – this time from original character Samantha Jones.

Kim Cattrall, 66, initially didn’t return for the Sex and The City sequel but then a phone call from a very important individual changed things.
And Just Like That’s streamer HBO’s boss jumped on the phone to find out if there was anything they could do to convince her to appear on the show as the public relations expert again.
The actress recalled the phone call during an interview on American talk show The View: ‘It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, “What can we do?”‘
Kim decided that she wanted original costume designer Patricia Field to be the one to style her scene.
‘I thought if I’m gonna come back, I gotta come back with that kind of Samantha style, I gotta push it, and we did!’
Kim originally played the sex-positive character in the ground-breaking series between 1999 and 2004. She then appeared in both sequel films, first in 2008 and 2010, but was absent from the sequel series that began in 2021.
